cars

by josh

I posted one of these a while back on my site, but here's the complete 5 spreads for Esquire Russia's "100 Cars We Love". Each spread had to have specific cars that were mentioned in the story. I'm not even sure if it's gone to print yet. Apparently Esquire asked a few different artists who all turned them down...and I never really understood why until I started the first spread. They sent me a list of different situations and 100 different models of cars that needed to be in the spreads. Needless to say turned out to be quite a challenge. anyways, no sketches, mostly due to the lack of time. I think they came out a bit more interesting that way....a little hit or miss maybe.

Also, a rambling, semi coherent feature here

pretty sweet josh. i like how all of them turned out. id say the 3rd one is probably the strongest. it must have been pretty hard to come up with 5 pieces on strictly cars.

hey Josh, this is REALLLLLLY great. Nothing else to say.
Yes, in fact, i just started a serie ( hopefully) of illustrations happening into cities (well, as usual in fact), kiind of surreal like yours a bit.
But not hundred of cars like you did, for cars are so hard to draw. I don't like them to much (i ride a bike), too, or at least, i don't like modern cars. i do like old stuffs.;
