drawings from life

by Frank

Yeah who really gets inspired by this stuff? Anyway, I'm running a figurative workshop at Art Center now and have to get some drawing done while I'm in there. I haven't enjoyed figure drawing in a long time, but I actually had a blast doing these. Oh, there's also a drawing of a cat, which was from a photo a friend sent me.

These are great. How long were the poses? I teach a life drawing class in an animation course so most of the poses are fairly short to keep the work loose and gestural. Usually 30 seconds to two minutes most days.

Do you prefer longer or shorter poses?

I wish I knew what visceral meant. The poses are from 2-10 minutes but I'll spend more time on something that's going well.
