Howdy everyone,

I did this little number for Mad Kids Magazine the other day. I'm stoked on how it came out.

Anonymous,
We started this blog because we're friends and enjoy posting different aspects of our work. Your last comment sounds a bit angry. If you have some personal issues that you would like to discuss further on our blog, feel free to let it all out...

hello Mister Anonymous,

I don't recall YOU getting any comments. Besides, I like being less-popular; it keeps people's expectations easily within grasp.

there was no anger meant and it wasn't meant with respect to a popularity contest - it was an honest question. so, please read this with a calm voice: the way this blog is run right now, the only reason there is traffic here is because of josh's work and the way it's presented. like i said, you guys are out of school and pros now - your professional appearance is paramount to your career. you're going to hurt yourselves in the long run if you keep posting a variety of crap with an occasional gem. this blog would be 1000 times better if only professional work was posted, like your finals/linears/rejected ideas. blogs are a huge vehicle for getting work and you're underestimating it's potential. Frank, a film you made 3 years ago or a recycled painting turns people off and could potentially turn off art buyers who may really enjoy your commercial work. do yourself a favor and show your good stuff and you'll get more work from it. i realize your intentions with the blog were to showcase different aspects of your work, BUT, at the end of the day.....it still reflects how each of you operate as a professional illustrator. if art buyers see that you're all over the map in terms of styles etc...why would they hire you. they need to know what kind of product they're going to receive.

I never joined the Plundering as a means to getting a job. Nathan put it together and first called Josh and I and asked if we wanted to be a part of it. It was originally just a way for us to show eachother and the rest of whoever what we're doing. It's supposed to be entertaining above all. If you want a "how to" blog, I'm sure there's plenty of them out there that will be to your liking.

On another note, I have no shortage of professional work, so my reasons for posting here have nothing to do with trying to drum up more of it. Most of the time the reason I don't update is because I don't have the time to put stuff up.

And incidentally, the claim that you're trying to give an honst criticism of the way I choose to present myself on this blog is completely negated by your insistence of doing so as a public critique. Continuing to hide behind the guise of "anonymous" only tells myself and others that you don't have enough confidence in your own opinion to stand behind it as an individual.

uh oh, anon's let the secret out. it's true. i'm just riding josh's coattails in hopes of fame and glory. fame and glory!

to be honest, though, it was a fair enough comment concerning me. i am obviously the least productive and popular of this trio, but i blame it on sullen japanese teenagers who don't take my english class seriously and my malfunctioning right pinky. or maybe it's just that i'm far ahead of my time and no one's smart enough to appreciate my genius.

it's okay, josh. a lot of people don't get it. it's nothing to be ashamed about. we'll all be dead by the time people start recognizing my ingenuity anyways.

Anonymous,

Normally I never write on these public forums, but dude, I think you're taking things too seriously in this case and it's unnecessary. You sound like you desperately need to get laid...(...speaking of unnecessary comments)

The only thing you said that made any sense is the fact that maybe Nate, Frank and Josh are underestimating their blog's "potential".....but who cares?...it's their blog. Why don't you provide a link to your blog? If you don't like what the guys are doing, it's a simple solution: Don't visit their blog.
